President Ram Nath Kovind called upon Slovenian business delegation to discover economic energy and dynamism of New India which has third largest scientific pool of scientists in the world and which attracted 44.3 billion US dollars of Foreign Direct Investment in 2018-19.
He was addressing the Slovenia-India Business Forum in Lubliyana, the capital of Slovenia on Monday. He called upon the business community in Slovenia to participate in the Make in India programme by setting up the manufacturing units in India. The President also added that Clean Ganga Programme, urban infrastructure and renewable energy are other areas in which both the countries can work together.
ASSOCHAM delegate Kishore Kumar Sharma said that bilateral trade increased by 33 per cent in 2018-19 with trade increasing from 270 million Euros to 361 million Euros. He said, the possibility of direct link with the port of Koper in Slovenia from India could be worked out for easier sea connectivity.
President of Slovenia Borut Pahor graced the meeting during the business forum interactions. On the concluding day of his visit to Slovenia, President Kovind will meet the Indian community and address them before leaving for New Delhi today.
